কখনো যদি বাংলাদেশ আর্মির সাথে একদিনও কাজ করার সু্যোগ পাই, চিরকৃতজ্ঞ থাকব

প্রথমে আমার অন্তরের অন্তঃস্থল থেকে আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ জানাই আপনাদের সবাইকে যারা দেশ ও দেশের মানুষের জন্য সেবা করে যাচ্ছেন। আমার এবারের খাগড়াছড়ি সেনানিবাস ভ্রমণ থেকে আমি বুঝতে পেরেছি একজন সৈনিক তাঁর মাতৃভূমির জন্য কি পরিমাণ আত্মত্যাগ করেন।

আপনারা হলেন সেই সব মানুষ যারা দেশের জন্য কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন সকল প্রতিকূলতা উপেক্ষা করে, কিন্তু আপনাদের বীরত্ব গাঁথা হয়ত কখনো কোন জাতীয় দৈনিক বা সংবাদ মাধ্যমে প্রকাশিত হয়নি। আমার সাথে এমন একজন সৈনিক এর দেখা হয়েছে যিনি খুব শীগ্রই বাবা হবেন। অথচ দেশের জন্য দায়িত্ব পালন করতে গিয়ে তিনি আজ তাঁর পরিবার থেকে বহুদূরের এই সেনা ক্যাম্প এ অবস্থান করছেন।

আমি স্বীকার করি অনেকের কাছেই সেপাই পলাশ এর দেশের প্রতি অঙ্গীকার একটি সামান্য পরিসংখ্যান ছাড়া আর কিছুই নয়। নিজের কাজ দিয়ে জাতীয় সঙ্গীত কে সমুন্নত রাখার প্রচেষ্টা কিংবা গ্যালারিতে দাঁড়িয়ে বাংলাদেশ দলকে সমর্থন দেয়াকেই আমরা হয়ত দেশাত্মবোধের পরিচায়ক হিসেবে মনে করি। কিন্তু মনে রাখবেন, এর কোনকিছুই আপনাদের আত্মত্যাগের সতূল্য নয়।

আজ বাংলাদেশ আর্মির এবং বর্ডার গার্ড বাংলাদেশের প্রত্যেক সদস্য দেশের জন্য জীবন উৎসর্গ করতে প্রস্তুত আছেন। আমার এই ভেবে খুব কষ্ট হয় যে আপনারা এবং আপনাদের আপনজনেরা অত্যন্ত কষ্ট সহ্য করেন যেন আমরা নিরাপদে ঘুম থেকে উঠতে পারি।

যেদিন আমাদের দেশের সকল নাগরিক একই ভাবে দেশের জন্য আত্মনিয়োগ করতে প্রস্তুত হবে সেদিন আমরা পাবো সমৃদ্ধির বাংলাদেশ। মনে রাখবেন, “সমরে আমরা শান্তিতে আমরা সর্বত্র আমরা দেশের তরে”।

সর্বশেষ এই বলতে চাই, “ যদি কখনো বাংলাদেশ আর্মির সাথে একদিনও কাজ করার সু্যোগ পাই, আমি চিরকৃতজ্ঞ থাকব।” এত সময় ধরে শেষ পর্যন্ত পড়ার জন্য আপনাদের কে অশেষ ধন্যবাদ।

First and foremost, I’m shouting out a heartfelt “THANK YOU” for all you have done and continue to do for the countrymen and our country.
In my recent visit to Khagrachari Cantonment, I got to realize what an enormous sacrifice a soldier does for our motherland. You are the people who are doers in million small ways, but many of us won’t find your stories on any national news channel or in any newspaper. I met a sepoy(soldier) who just heard that he is going to be a father very soon and kept his pregnant wife away from the remote camp. There are thousands of soldiers & officers doing the same thing every night & day. I agree, many of us are slumbering, lost in our own minor problems of day to day living, with nary a thought to spare for our country and you, her guardians, and for whom, may be Sepoy Polash is nothing more than another statistic.
Standing for the national anthem in any comfortable zone or cheering loudly when Bangladesh beats any other team in a cricket match is the outer limit of our patriotism. But do remember, nothing compare to your sacrifice for the motherland, nothing!
o Today, every single member of the Bangladesh Army & Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is prepared to give up his life for the nation. I’m sorry for the fact that you and your near and dear ones have to suffer such hardships to ensure people like me wake up secure every morning.
The day each and every citizen of this country shows this same eagerness to sacrifice everything for the motherland, that will be the beginning of our glorious future.
Remember always: “In Peace or In War We are Everywhere for our Country”
Lastly, I would be ever grateful if I get a chance to work for Bangladesh Army even for a day.
